Mirror box therapy

artifact 6: pediatric mirror box therapy protocol

During my Master of Occupational Therapy program at Quinnipiac University, I was the graduate research assistant. This position entailed supporting multiple faculty research projects and conducting literature reviews. When supporting our department chair, Professor Salvador Bondoc, OTD, OTR, BCPR, CHT, FAOTA, I first learned of mirror box therapy through his clinical research with the adult stroke population. Years later, drawing from this experience, I looked to apply mirror box therapy to the pediatric brain injury population, specifically children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. This artifact represents the research I conducted and subsequent work to develop and adapt a protocol specific to our clinic population.
