As a part of the Practicum II: Diagnostic experience, graduate student clinicians will conduct diagnostic evaluations in the NYU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic.
Graduate Student Clinicians are required to reach out to their designated supervisor to develop the Initial Diagnostic Plan (IDP). The IDP will be reviewed and approved in Titanium by the supervisor.
Graduate Student Clinicians are required to plan and familiarize themselves with all diagnostic tests/tasks to be administered.
Testing materials are available at the clinic with limited availability to tests and forms remotely via NYU Box and Q-Global.
Test Inventory Available for Remote Access
Test Inventory Available on-site
Scheduling permitting, Graduate Student Clinicians should prepare and arrive at least 30 minutes before a scheduled evaluation.
After an evaluation has been completed, Graduate Student Clinicians will meet with the supervisor to discuss recommendations.
The Graduate Student Clinicians will then complete the Treatment Recommendation form on the task list in Titanium.
In Titanium, move the client to the waiting list to be scheduled by the Clinic Admin Team.
Initial draft diagnostic reports are to be completed in Titanium within 7-10 days of the date of evaluation, depending on the specific documentation deadline of the supervisor.
After a report is submitted, the supervisor will provide comments and corrections. Graduate Student Clinicians are required to make revisions within 48 hours of the receipt of supervisor's comments.
After a report has been revised and approved by the supervisor, it can then be finalized by signing the document and "forwarding" to the supervisor for signature in the Titanium system.
Note: Titanium only allows two Graduate Student Clinician signatures. For groups larger than two clinicians, please discuss with your team and choose the two diagnostic lead clinicians for report signature.
