By the end of this unit, students will be able to:
Sight-read, improvise, and transcribe rhythms in simple and compound meters that incorporate 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, and 4:3 polyrhythms.
Aurally identify the large-scale structure of a piece from the repertoire as binary, ternary, sonata form, rondo, theme & variations, or fugue.
Aurally analyze a musical excerpt that uses one of the structures above, using an audio annotation tool; identify important components of the structure, formal areas, and keys without the use of a score.
