NYFA is committed to promoting student success and fostering student retention while also promoting and sustaining the health, well-being, and safety of our students and the community.
Campus Deans and Office of the Dean of Students work closely with several student service departments to ensure our students get the support they need including Academic Advising, Student Accessibility Services, NYFA Counseling, The Writing Center, Language/ESL Tutoring, Veteran Services & Student Life.
Additionally on each campus there is a CARE Team that meets at least weekly to collaboratively evaluate, monitor and take or advise action in response to student behaviors of concern, including but not limited to those behaviors that potentially threaten the health and safety of individual students and the NYFA community.
Lastly the Cross Campus DEI Committee is here to support NYFA’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Each campus has a DEI Committee with members who focus on curriculum, policy, and programming efforts.
These departments, teams and committees are also available to NYFA Faculty as resources for guidance in how best to answer student questions or concerns.
In this section you will find an overview of each department, team and committee listed above, links to their additional information or resources as well as specific wellness policies and guidelines and a breakdown of incident reporting including links to each report form.
We encourage you to rely on these resources to help you guide students who may be navigating obstacles or need additional support.
