Please note, the below compensation calculations do not include the Los Angeles Photo Department and the Los Angeles 3D Animation Department. Compensation guidelines for those departments are below.
All instructors prior to commencing work at New York Film Academy, Ltd. (“NYFA”) will be assigned an instructor level (“Level”). Listed below as Schedule “A” for each department is the compensation offered to an instructor with the associated Level. The determination of an Instructor’s Level will consider, but not be limited to, the following criteria:
Education
PhD or MFA or Terminal Degree: Base Level a
Master’s Degree: Base Level b
Bachelor’s Degree: Base Level b
Associates or Lower: Base Level c
Number of years of College Level Teaching and Professional Experience
0 – 5 years of experience (Individuals with a developing portfolio teaching and/or professional work, and who are beginning to achieve recognition within their field): No increase, stays at base Level
5-15 years of experience (Demonstrated their increasing potential to the college through increasing classroom effectiveness, as well as through external recognitions such as speaking engagements, publishing, awards, exhibitions or movies): 1 step up in Level
15 – 30+ years of experience (Distinguished teachers whose deep and continuing commitment to the college is demonstrably reflected back into classes, student work and their contributions to their departments and the college at large): 2 step up in Level
Industry credit/publications
Award winning credits: 2 step up in Level
Produced significant work: 1 step up in Level
Publication & Recognitions: 1 step up in Level
Some industry work and just started: No increase, stays at base level

Currently, the Los Angeles Campus has a comprehensive plan through which all current faculty were given titles. The process by which these titles were determined, as well as the process for Promotions, the system of Raises and Titles for new hires, are detailed in the linked document below.
