Slow Shutter Speed

Out of all the assignments so far, slow shutter speed felt the most tedious. Low light areas were needed so the picture wouldn't be over exposed or too bright, so we had to find dark or low light areas which was really hard. This assignment was new to me because I'm used to take still photos and "finding" the shot, but this assignment required us to create the shot and set it up.

I was lucky to shoot this photo outside because it was cloudy which is a rare occasion. I remember setting my shutter speed to .8 of a second because setting it any higher would've made the picture really bright and exposed.

We had to take this photo multiple times because the whole thing would move and it would just be a blur. This is what made this assignment tedious, constantly making sure that there is a moving and a still object all while checking if you've set the right shutter speed.

This photo is interesting in the sense that all the students are a blur while the background remains sharp. Using a long exposure gives the image a different feel. It gives it a sense of urgency that a still photo wouldn't give off.
