Basic Composition

Basic composition of a picture is important to know. The rule of thirds, horizontal line, focal point, and leading line helps lead he viewers attention in the photo. However the assignment was much more difficult, I had to make sure that I was following the rule of thirds, leading line, etc as well as making sure that the camera was straight and that the photo had contrast. I learned that photography has to have a flow that makes the viewer want to look at it and see the different elements that put the picture together.

The focal point being the bench, contrasts with the background's vertical lines with the benches horizontal lines.

This photo emphasizes the tree. It occupies one third of the image which in turn makes it the focal point of the photo.

This image shows a strong leading line across the building. The viewer wants to look from the foreground to the background creating movement.
