Dedicated Armed Commander
Armed is a Drill team that is often practiced within NJROTC with rifles and it is important to learn the basics of it during your time at NJROTC to not only try it out but to learn how we compete with other schools as well. This practice isn't only about competition though, the practice of armed has many purposes, such as parade performance, drill performance, exhibitions, and discipline.
Exhibition Drill is more free form and often more elaborate then Regulation Drill. Exhibition Drill teams are also more colorful in uniform and weaponry. Armed regulation drill consists of a team of 12 cadets, who march with rifles, and a commander who carries a saber. Cadets learn manual of arms (rifle movements) and compete at the regional level each year,
We compete with other schools to be able to become more recognized or noticed to increase our unit status, it also goes onto our end-of-the-year report.
We participate to perform and show off what we have accomplished within this program, and again, it goes on the end-of-the-year report.
