Fouled Anchor: 2 inches left from the fore crease, 1.5 inches up from the bottom crease. Centered at the line bend.
Chief/Officer Insignia: 2 inches right from the fore crease, 1.5 inches up from the bottom crease. Centered at the geometric center of the insignia.
Ribbons: 0.25 inches above the left breast pocket centered (males). 6.25 inches below the left shoulder seam centered (females). Must be arranged with the seniormost ribbon inboard and upper.
JROTC Insignia (JBar): 1.875 inches above the left collar tip, centered at the O.
Academic Stars: 0.25 inches above the JBar, centered with 1 point up, 2 points down.
Medals: 0.25 inches below the ribbons, centered. Only 3 per row, maximum of 5 rows. Coins lay just below each other.
Aiguillette: Centered on the left shoulder seam. Only one may be worn per shoulder.
Name Tag: 0.25 inches above the right breast pocket centered (males). 6.25 inches below the right shoulder seam centered (females).
Rank Insignia: 1.875 inches above the right collar tip, centered at the designated center-point.
Commander Ribbons: 0.25 inches above the name tag, centered. Must be arranged with senior-most ribbon inboard, all Commander Ribbons adorned with no devices other than an upright golden anchor.
Leadership Cord/Aiguillette: Centered on right shoulder seam. Only aiguillette that is allowed to be worn on that shoulder.
Gig Line: The vertical line between the button seam of the shirt, the starboard edge of the brass of the belt, and the fly of the trousers.
Shining: Must be neatly polished with black shoe polish. May not use liquid polish.
Shirt Stays: Connect the bottom of the shirt to the top of the socks to give a nice, tailored appearance to the male uniform shirt.
T-Shirt: Must be plain white crew neck or V-neck T-shirts, worn under the uniform shirt/blouse.
Relaxed Fit Jacket: Worn over the Uniform shirt/blouse. Must be zipped up at all times.
Socks: Must be black plain-knit or rib-knit.
Belt Buckle: Must be shined with brass shine without quartermaster, and have no noticeable scratches or scrapes. Brasso is not allowed for use on brass items because it removes outward plating. For males only.
Style: Neat, clean, trimmed, and presents a well-groomed appearance.
Length: Hair may not be more than 4 inches in length.
Bulk: Hair may not extend more than 2 inches above the scalp.
Sides/Back: Hair above the ears and around the neck must be tapered upwards 3/4 of an inch and outward no greater than 3/4 of an inch.
Sideburns: May not extend downward past the middle of the ear.
Mustaches: Facial hair is not permitted other than a closely-shaved trimmed mustache that does not extend outward past the corners of the lips.
Fingernails: Will not extend past the fingertips.
Other: Ethnic hairstyles are permitted, provided they are groomed to fit the guidelines stated here. Bizarre hairstyles or outrageous multicolored hair are not authorized. Hair color must look natural and complement the individual.
Earrings, Studs, Piercings: Must not be in any place visible to the Naval Science Instructor.
Necklaces: Authorized, must not be visible.
Rings: One per hand is authorized.
Wristwatch/Bracelet: One of each is authorized, but no ankle bracelets. *Unit policy for inspection is that only the platoon commanders and inspecting officers are permitted to wear watches.
Tucking: The PT shirt must be tucked into any pair of shorts, pants, or trousers that are being worn.
Elastic Waistband Adjuster (also known at the Naval Academy as a "dingle-dangle"): may not be visible or hanging outside of the shorts.
In-Seam (length of the leg): 8 inches for males, 6 inches for females.
Tucking: All civilian or company athletic shirts permitted to be worn with PT shorts must be tucked into the PT shorts.
May be worn over PT gear.
