Overview
Taleo is an online system for hiring staff employees. It was launched on March 1, 2017 to replace the PeopleAdmin Online Job System (OJS). For more details, job aides, and training information, please visit the Taleo site at: http://www.uh.edu/human-resources/manager-toolbox/hiring/Taleo/
Before posting a position, departments must confirm they have sufficient base funding.
- Any requests for new positions must be requested in advance via a memo to the college. See Position Management for details.
- Vacant positions that are on central funds must be added to the following vacant position spreadsheets as soon as they become vacant.
- Provost "Fully Funded Vacant Positions spreadsheet," located on the Provost SharePoint site/Annual Planning and Budgeting/NSM/FYxx. (Only the college has access to this site).
- The college's vacant position list in Smartsheet: "Vacant positions_NSM 1026-2064." If not, departments can add it using the form link: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/ff705f11f4694ad8ab0ea4c68cb428a2
Additional Information Required for Posting Requisitions and Offers in Taleo
In order to evaluate and approve your documents quickly in Taleo,the Division of Academic Affairs needs the following information. If your document is missing any of the below information, it will be returned or put on hold until the information is received.
A. New Positions. If you are trying to post a new position, include the ePRF # and the date it was approved in HR in the “Internal Notes” field of the Position Summary (Section 1).
B. All Positions.
- Cost Center: Please provide cost center information for each Taleo requisition/offer in the “Cost Center & Funding Details” field of the Position Summary (Section 1). Following is an example of the cost center string that you need to include in the “Internal Notes”: 00730-2064-H0082-A0307-NA-58591. Some individuals still work exclusively with speed types, but the actual cost center string is needed to see all the relevant information necessary to evaluate the document.
- Funding.
- Ensure the position has sufficient base funding. Departments should run the 1074.1 and 1074.6 to confirm base funding availability and be prepared to explain a 1074 that does not show sufficient base funds available.
- Vacant Positions spreadsheet for centrally funded positions only.
- The position must be listed on the Provost "Fully Funded Vacant Positions spreadsheet," located on the Provost SharePoint site/Annual Planning and Budgeting/NSM/FYxx. (Only the college has access to this site).
- The position must also be listed on the college's vacant position list in Smartsheet: "Vacant positions_NSM 1026-2064." If not, departments can add it using the form link: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/ff705f11f4694ad8ab0ea4c68cb428a2
C. Replacement Positions. If you are posting a replacement position, list the name of the individual who is being replaced in the “Previous Incumbent Name” field located in the section Position Summary section of the requisition.
