Job Titles

Faculty employees must be appointed in job titles that are consistent with the job duties being performed. For a complete list of job titles, go to the Faculty Handbook.

In FY17, new job codes/titles were created for faculty who are teaching as an overload (additional compensation) assignment.

    • OJS is the Online Jobs System that UH uses to post positions.
  • Where can I find OJS?
  • Are all faculty positions required to be posted to OJS?
    • Benefits eligible faculty positions must be posted to OJS.
    • Non-benefit positions are not required to be posted in OJS, but is recommended.
    • Courtesy appointments do not get posted to OJS.
  • When is a criminal history investigation required?
    • A CHRI is required for all hires.
  • Are the CHRIs on the Provost and HR website different?
    • No. In fact, the link on the Provost website will direct you to the HR website.
  • Why are there two Employment Acceptance forms?
    • One is for NTT faculty and the other is for TT, Clinical and Instructional faculty.
