Procare has been known to give some people trouble while submitting their online registrations. We are sorry about this and know how frustrating this can be! Procare's customer support team recommends clearing your cache and cookies, or try using a different web browser. You can call Procare Customer Support at 800-964-1729.
If you are still having trouble, please email ghollender@northampton-k12.us or submit a paper registration form instead.
Yes! If your child is on a consistent recurring schedule, it is best to just email ghollender@northampton-k12.us with your schedule changes. For any added days, we will need at least one week notice, and availability is dependent on staffing.
For families who set their own irregular or add-on schedules, you can set your child's Early Bird / Late Bird schedule up to 3 months in advance through MyProcare.com, and you can make changes to the schedule up to 5 days before the start of the month. You will be blocked from making any changes or additions during (and the 5 days before) the current month. Please email any schedule changes for the current month to ghollender@northampton-k12.us. While we are happy to do our best to accommodate extenuating circumstances, please try your best to give us 1 week notice before any changes or additions to the schedule.
If your child will not be doing Late Bird one day, please call the office and/or email ghollender@northampton-k12.us, sbombard@northampton-k12.us, and your child's classroom teacher with the new dismissal plans. (If your child is absent from school, you do not need to inform us.)
Yes! You can always pick up any time before your scheduled pick up time, and you do not need to let us know. If you are running late, please try to let us know by texting Gabrielle at 413-326-5348 or messaging on Parent Square. If you are more than 5 minutes late, you will be charged for the additional hour of Late Bird. And any students picked up after 5:15pm will be charged at the rate of $1 per minute.
You can make payments by Check or online via UniPay. See our Payments page for more info about how to make payments.
Early Bird, Late Bird, and Enrichment Club payments are all charged as one monthly sum at the end of each month. We will post charges for the current month around one week before the last day of the month, and will then send out an email with your current balance due (including any unpaid balance from previous months). Payment will be due by the last day of each month. You can always log into MyProcare.com to see your current balance due, although any payments made during the current month will not be updated in your account until early next month once we receive the UniPay report from the business office.
Because we use the city's payment system (UniPay), we do not see the payment reports until after the end of each month. All payments are generally updated in Procare in the beginning of each month. So if you're not seeing your recent payment reflected, it is most likely because you made your payment this month. Wait until early next month and it will be updated in your account. If you’re able to get your current payment in before the last day of the month, then it will be reflected in your next billing statement and will keep all our records up to date.
It’s the quirks of combining external enrollment software with the city’s payment system... Thanks for your understanding!
All Registrations need to be manually imported. If your child's registration is listed as 'pending', it means that it is sitting in the queue waiting to be imported by us. Don't worry, your registration will be imported soon, and then your schedule will be visible to you. You can still submit a schedule while your child's registration is 'pending', although you will not be able to see it in your calendar until they have been imported and marked as 'enrolled'.
Drop off at the main entrance (the lower entrance by the bus loop) any time after 7:00am. Our staff will greet you at the door and will make sure your child gets to morning arrival or breakfast at 7:45am.
Pick up any time within the hour BEFORE your scheduled pick up time. If it is a warm and sunny day, please come around to the back playground for pick up. Be sure to check out with the person holding the iPad before taking your child. If it is a very cold/ rainy/ indoor day, please come to the main entrance (lower loop) to pick up your child. Any new pick up persons will be asked to show identification.
Indoor pick up procedure: Feel free to ring the buzzer once if you do not see a staff person by the door. Please wait outside or in the lobby if you are buzzed in. Just wait there, and we will call your child down and send them out to you. You can call Gabrielle at 413-326-5348 if no one is at the door.
Wait by the main entrance, and your child will be sent out to you. If you'd like to wait inside or check the lost and found, just ring the bell. Please wait in the lobby and we will send your child out to you- please do not walk through the building. Caregivers may not walk through the building without a staff person. If your child has left something in their classroom that cannot wait until the next day, please let us know and we will send a staff person down with them. Also, please do not open the door for other parents.
If it's a nice day and it's before 4ish, you can pick your child up on the Kindergarten playground. If it's a nice day and it's after 4ish, you can pick your child up on the back playground. Always make sure to check out with a staff member before taking your child. If it's an indoor day, the Kindergarten group may be in the Gym, Cafeteria, Art Room, or Kindergarten classroom, so it's best to come to the main entrance for pick up.
Enrichment Clubs end at varying times between 3:30-4pm. You can come to the main entrance by the office to pick your child up directly from their Enrichment Club. If it is a nice day, you can pick up on the back playground. Check the sign on the front door to know where to pick up.
All Enrichment Club students are signed up for Late Bird until 4:15. Students will be sent to Late Bird once their clubs end. You may pick them up any time between 3:30(ish)-4:15, or sign up for an additional hour of Late Bird until 5:15.
No, your child cannot attend after school programs if they were absent from school. If your child is dismissed from school for an appointment, they can attend after school programs only if they return to school before dismissal time.
You can now log into MyProcare.com at any time to see your child's schedule. Just go to the 'Schedule' page and the calendar will show all your scheduled days and times for Early Bird, Late Bird, or Enrichment Clubs. *All Kindergarteners are signed up for "Kindergarten" on their schedule.*
Please contact us at ghollender@northampton-k12.us if you find an error in your child's schedule, or if you need to make any last minute changes. Open enrollment for the following month will happen around the 10th-20th day of the current month, at which point you will have the chance to add days to your child's schedule. If you have a consistent schedule and you would like the same schedule continued throughout the schoolyear, we can extend your schedule for you throughout the year - just email to request this.
Early Bird is a fun and small mixed-age group of kids. We play games or use building blocks and props from our drama center or sensory center. It's a low-key, free-choice activity time. We are usually in the Cafeteria.
Students are dismissed from class around 2:05pm and head to the Cafeteria and sit at tables by class. Once all kids are checked in and accounted for, they send off the busses and we start with bathrooms and filling water bottles. Most Late Bird days start out on the playground. On warm days, we might stay out there all the way until 5pm. During the winter, we're usually out for 30-60 minutes. Kindergarten spends the first hour on the Kindergarten playground, and then joins the rest of Late Bird after that.
When it's time to head inside, we go to the Cafeteria where students have free choice to play games and various activity centers - building, drama, sensory, gross motor, etc.
Whether inside or outside, we always have a daily art/craft project and group games. Staff often bring groups of students for a range of activities from gym games and sports to improv games and circle games to CALM Club (quieter activities in the library), STEM activities (Scratch Coding, Robotics, Stop Motion Animation, recycled construction projects, etc.), Yoga and Mindfulness, and more.
Students ALWAYS have the option for a calming break in Ms. Gabrielle's office, smaller group work with Ms. S, Ms. Gabrielle, or one of our staff members, and/or help and support with conflict resolution as needed.
Enrichment Clubs vary depending on the club and the instructor and the students! You can browse through our Enrichment Club Descriptions here.
Due to higher enrollment at Late Bird, we have decided to keep our Kindergarteners separate for the first hour of Late Bird in order to prioritize safety and ample space for play. The Kindergarten playground is a place they are familiar with, and makes for a smoother transition at the end of the day. Kindergarten students are picked up directly from their classrooms, use the bathrooms there, and then head right outside (or to the Gym on indoor days). By 3:30ish, there are less students at Late Bird, and we generally transition the Kindergarteners in with the 1st-5th graders after that. We also often have 1-2 big kid helpers from 2nd-5th grade that like to join the Kindergarten group. The kindergarteners love having them there to lead games, and they love having a chance to be helpers and model positive social skills. We also allow older siblings to visit with their Kindergarten sibling during that first hour if they'd like to.
This year, we will be adding in a few half day programs on select early release school days. More info and dates will be announced via Parent Square.
You can access your full year tax statement ("Charge/Credit Summary") on MyProcare.com. I am also happy to print it out for you. Contact me if the numbers do not match your records.
All Early Bird / Late Bird / Enrichment Club charges are based on the total number of scheduled hours in the month. As it states in our policies, there are no refunds or credits due to a student being absent or dismissed early from school, or for school cancellations. It would be impossible for us to manually remove charges for all students that do not attend on their scheduled days.
If you know at least 1 week in advance which days your child will be absent, I can remove it from their schedule and you will not be charged for those days.
Fall registration for next year's Early Bird/Late Bird programs will be open from July 1st-31st. Enrichment Clubs begin in October, and you will receive registration information about those in early September.
