Welcome to CT 2104. This course focuses on multimedia production. Multimedia is a digital concept that includes computer-created text, graphics, video, audio, and animation. To start this course we will complete some research on what each of these digital concepts mean and how they contribute to our daily lives.

All about Digital Citizenship
What is Digital Citizenship? It is the ability to navigate our digital environment safely and responsibly. It is also being respectful when engaging in these spaces. There are 9 Key elements of Digital Citizenship.
Your Task:
If you were to introduce this topic to a group of students younger than you how would you do it and what would you tell them?
Your job is to make an infographic you could use to introduce this topic to students who are new to the digital world.
You will use the platform Canva to do this.
When on Canva:
Make sure you go to infographic templates then choose the one you feel fits best
Be sure to get lots of good research. Graph and Pictures can increase understanding
Visual appeal and page balance are critical elements.
Some points to consider:
What are the most important points to get across?
How can you explain this in simple terms someone younger could understand
What would make this visually appealing to someone younger? (Color, photos, videos, etc.)
How is digital citizenship important to them? How will it impact their day-to-day lives?
Any other points you deem important
Aesthetic/Grammar will be a portion of the Grading Scheme
You can work on this project in groups of two but both partners must post this on their google site. Formatting can be done how you wish but I have added a sample below.
Activity III ( /5)
Media Convergence
Media convergence is defined as the interlinking of computing and other information technologies, media content, and communication networks that have arisen due to the evolution and popularization of the Internet.
For the past century, media has been thought of more in terms of the medium used to communicate, such as newspapers, magazines, radio, television, movies, audiotapes, CDs, and DVDs. These are broadcast mediums.
Examples of media convergence include the following:
• Newspapers as a medium existed independently. As media technologies evolved, newspapers converged with digital networks to create extensive news networks accessible instantly from any mobile device.
• Televisions initially existed as stand-alone units that pulled video and audio signals from the airwaves. When technologies converged the television became hardwired to large media networks initially called cable TV. Currently, these devices are converging with more advanced networks and streaming services such as Netflix.
• Some automatic washers and dryers have converged with network technologies so that mobile devices can control them.
Your Task:
Think about today's smartphone. What types of technology/media have converged together to create the device in your hand? Create a list or image of at least 5 of these convergences. How is media convergence beneficial to society?
OR
Create a timeline highlighting ten significant events in media development. You can use any medium you wish (my recommendation would be canva)
