Behavior & Social-Emotional Learning Strategies

Trainings in this section focus on the skills you need and the strategies you can use to provide behavior and social-emotional learning supports for students with disabilities.

In this training, we will explore our own iceberg - what motivates our own behavior, and how can we maintain calm in order to help students regulate?

*2 hours of PD/EILA

This training discusses the ABCs of behavior and describes models for understanding the functions of behavior. Also included are strategies to promote positive relationships with students.

*1 hour PD/EILA credit

Connection is a critical foundation for engaging our learners! This session explores why connection is important, as well as strategies for fostering connection with staff and with peers.

In this training, we will explore how to effectively communicate student behavior, and review a few strategies to improve student behavior!

This training focuses on using visual tools to support behavior across school settings! This session was designed for instructional assistants, classified staff and administrators.

*1 hour PD/EILA credit

This session is all about visual supports for behavior that can and should be used throughout a student’s school day and across all settings. This training is appropriate for instructional assistants who may support students with exceptional needs across all grade levels and settings. This is an extension of the first module that you can find on our Professional Learning Online site.

*2 hours of PD/EILA

In this training, we'll provide best practices for supporting students who are exhibiting big behaviors on the bus - from yelling and disrespect to hitting, we'll discuss WHY behaviors happen and what we can do about it.

*2 hours of PD/EILA

This training includes verbal strategies we can use to help students de-escalate aggressive or acting out behaviors. This session was designed for instructional assistants, classified staff and administrators.
