For Support/ Classified Staff

Welcome classified and support staff! In addition to being able to access ANY of our online training, sessions listed in this section were created specifically with you in mind.

We have special trainings to support your work with students who have big behaviors, students with autism and low incidence disabilities who need communication supports, and students who need instructional support. Please check each of the subtabs under the "Support/Classified Staff tab" for additional training.

*1.5 hours of PD/EILA

This session covers basic confidentiality guidelines for students with disabilities - what specific protections do our exceptional students have that we should be mindful of in our everyday interactions?  

This training is appropriate for teachers, instructional assistants, and other support staff working with students with exceptional needs across all grade levels and settings. 

*1 hour of PD Credit

In this training, you will create a personalized binder to support your role as an Instructional Assistant.    

*1 hour PD/EILA credit

In this training,  EL Consultants Daniele Novak and Heather Ralphes share practical strategies for supporting English Learners in general education and special education settings.

*1 hour of PD/EILA

This training focuses on defining and collecting behavior data for students across grade levels and settings.  This session was designed for instructional assistants, classified staff and administrators.

*1 hour of PD/EILA

This session focuses on strategies you can use to support mindfulness with students through the Arts.

*1 hour PD/EILA credit

In this session, you will learn about the Steps of Systems of Least prompts as well as 20 ways to provide invisible or silent support.  Check out the added resources: Academic/ Behavior  Support and Implementation Tips. You will also hear advice from students as they strive to become more independent.  

*1 hour PD/EILA credit

In this session, you will explore how to teach skills using I do, We do, & You do with the focus on the importance of increasing the "WE Do" for students that struggle.  You will also learn about 3 types of practice to increase long-term memory.  

*3 hours

If you support an emerging reader who doesn’t yet recognize all letters / letter sounds, is not yet independently reading text, and may or may not yet show visual interest in books), this session is for you! We’ll dive deep into strategies we can use to support literacy learning AND look at high interest resources we can use and adapt to meet student needs and interests. BONUS!
