What we are learning this week:

Reading: We will listen and read books to recall the main events of the story.

Phonics: We will focus on letter "s".

Writing: We will practice handwriting and respond to a book that we have read. We will continue in our narrative writing unit and think about our audience as we write.

Math: We will begin Module 6 on joining groups(adding).

Science: We will explore light energy.

How can I help my child at home?

Practice zipping and unzipping backpacks
Practice taking white binder out of backpack
Practice saying their teachers name
Practice tying shoes
Practice writing first and last name
Practice reading and writing letters
Practice letter sounds
Practice reading and writing sight words
Practice counting 1-20
Read with your child and ask them to retell the story

Reminders

Change of Clothes

Please make sure you send a change of clothes with your child every day. This can be kept in a ziplock bag in your child's backpack. Please send in: shorts, tshirt, underwear, and socks. Accidents happen and there are limited extra clothes in the Clinic.
