CPMS is a cloud-based portfolio management system, which gives access to the life-cycle of studies. It is a national information system owned and managed by the NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) and used by commercial partners and devolved administrations.
CPMS enables the RDN to:
Capture high-quality study information
Ensure visibility of this information to staff across our network (in the form of direct access to the study record in CPMS)
Capture research activity once and access it from multiple systems
Provide data to the Open Data Platform , where a range of detailed reports are available that help to manage performance and deliver studies
Use of CPMS is governed by these Terms and Conditions which apply to all people who use it.
From the start of 2019 anyone using CPMS has signed explicit acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

The Data Controller for CPMS is the Department of Health and Social Care. This system is managed by NIHR RDNCC on behalf of the Data Controller.
The responsible manager within NIHR RDNCC for CPMS is the Research Delivery Director
RDNCC have a current ISO27001: 2022 certification and Cyber Essentials; the provision of CPMS falls within the scope of these.
RDNCC review that the above controls are current and effective on at least an annual basis. This includes verification with DHSC as Data Controller.
