CPMS is the IT service at the heart of how clinical research is delivered in National Institute of Health and Care Research
For more information on the practical support the NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) can offer for clinical research, this is provided through the Study Support Service
For information on using CPMS, please visit our Getting Started and Logging In webpage.
CPMS is a cloud-based portfolio management system, which records information about the the life-cycle of clinical research studies supported by the NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN). It is a national information system that enables the RDN to:
Capture high-quality information about studies (including design type, whether the study is randomised, etc)
Provide a single interface for accepting applications for our services, including the commercial service requests, Non-Commercial Portfolio Application, Schedule of Events Costing Attribution Tool and more
Ensure visibility of this information to staff across our network (in the form of direct access to CPMS)
Capture research activity once and access it from multiple systems
Provide data to the Open Data Platform (ODP), where a range of data visualisation dashboards are available that help to manage performance and deliver studies
This puts the RDN in a stronger position to build greater insight and deliver more effective support, both locally and nationally, for clinical research in the NHS.
