Type of Study: Randomised controlled trial (Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Product, CTIMP)

Study Aim: To compare the clinical effectiveness of low dose amitriptyline to placebo for the prevention of post-herpetic neuralgia at 90 days.

Type of Study: Phase III blinded, multi-centre, non-inferiority trial

Study Aim: To assess whether lower limb cellulitis can safely be treated with a 5 day course of antibiotics by conducting a placebo-controlled RCT of 5 vs 7 days of oral flucloxacillin.

Type of Study: An open-label, parallel group, multi-arm randomised trial with two sub-trials enrolling patients with: 1) cystitis, and 2) pyelonephritis. 

Study Aim: To find the shortest antibiotic treatment duration needed to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women effectively. We will also look at the impact of each antibiotic and treatment duration on antibiotic resistance

Study Aim: To assess a personalised approach in adults with major depression in a real-world NHS setting, known as the PETRUSHKA tool, informed by the best available evidence.

Type of Study: A multicentre, 1:1 randomised, open-label, standard care-controlled trial

Study Aim: To determine the clinical effectiveness, cost effectiveness and acceptability, of replacing short-acting beta agonists (SABA) inhalers, containing Salbutamol, with inhalers containing ICS/formoterol in patients with asthma treated with low dose inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) maintenance treatment.
