I am Rani Priya, a Textile Design student from NIFT. I like to work on traditional and abstract motifs. I am interested in exploring different surface development techniques and creating textures from different material and techniques. With great learning and diversified exposures that I had at NIFT and industries, always gives me confidence to work both independently and as a team. I would love to use my proficiency, knowledge and skills and implement it to produce something useful, unique. Now, I am looking forward to work in a creative and innovative environment that enables to gain valuable commercial and design oriented experience.
Folk art is an expression of the world’s traditional culture. It is rooted in traditions that come from community and culture. It is an art originating among the common people of a nation or region and usually reflecting their culture. The designs is inspired from folk art of India and the world. Print on Tea glass is inspired from Petrykivka Folk art. This Style of Painting is a characteristic feature of Ukrainian decorative folk art that has been practised for generations in the village of Petrykivka. Stylised flowers and guilder-rose are among the most popular motifs of the murals with even regular thistles and other weeds featuring rather prominently in the paintings. This art is rich in symbolism: the rooster stands for fire and spiritual awakening, while birds represent light, harmony and happiness. In folk belief, the paintings protect people from sorrow and evil.
