Textile Design- Class of 2017, NIFT Patna

It comprises of 37 multi talented Textile Designers ready to begin their professional careers.

As Textile Design students they have received inputs in design basics, elements and principle of design, colour theory, drawing and sketching skills, computer aided design skills, material handling, ideation and product development skills. They have learned to designed and developed seasonal collection based on R&D / forecast for a range of products incorporating textures, prints, creative weaves, dobby, jacquard, carpets, embroideries and surface ornamentation.

They have worked in the crafts sector completing 4 weeks of craft research and documentation which includes spending 10 days with the crafts person in crafts cluster to research and document the craft.

They also have designed and developed a range of innovative craft based products in collaboration with the traditional crafts people and artisans. The products are based on modern sensibilities so as to incorporate traditional crafts in mainstream.

During the 8 weeks of industry internship, they have learned the functioning and processes involved in designing of textile based products.

For the Graduation Project, they worked with the sponsoring organisation for 16 weeks to develop two textile based collection.

These 37 Textile Designers are ready to catapult to the professional world. Each one having potential to change the world and make it beautiful for others.
