Role of the School Counselor/Counselor Assignments

*We Help Students Make Informed Decisions*

School counselors are professionals with training and skills to support students’ potential for healthy growth in the areas of academic, personal/social, and career development. We provide a wide range of services to all students in grades 9-12 as part of our Comprehensive School Counseling program. These services include but are not limited to: individual meetings with students, Counselor Workshop lessons, and group counseling. School Counselors also provide crisis intervention to students, attend PPT's and 504's, and consult with teachers, parents, and administrators. We are often the first person that students, parents, and teachers come to with a question or concern. Our goal is to help point them in the right direction and/or make an informed decision.

Student Success Plans

Did you know your son/daughter is building what we like to call Student Success Plans?

A Student Success Plan is an individualized portfolio based on students' interests and strengths that will be developed and monitored to help every student stay connected in school and to set and achieve academic, social-emotional and future goals.

Final Grades

Please stay in touch with your counselor and teacher if you are in jeopardy of not passing a class for this year. If you learn that you have not passed a class, your counselor can help you create a plan for next steps. Please keep in mind that the summer school deadline is soon after grades close so it will be important to find out what the final grade for the class is when complete.
