1st Graders used tiles, paper clips, and cubes to measure various items in the classroom. 1st Graders identified and measured the longest part, length, of each object. We discussed accurate measuring techniques. These techniques include: starting at the beginning, ending at the end, leaving no gaps or spaces, no overlapping, measuring in a straight line along the edge, and keeping track of the number of units.
See some of the things we measured and the units we used for measuring, too!
