The CTE program will be discontinued by the Fall 2026 semester. We acknowledge the challenge that this change may bring upon our community. Know that the CELS office is here to support you however we can. Do not hesitate to contact us at elsc@newschool.edu or (212) 229-5372.
The university is unable to offer courses counting toward the certificate after the Fall 2026 semester, so please note the following course offerings when planning your pathway to completion, and please submit this CTE Completion Plan 2026 by no later than January 12, 2026.

The Center for English Language Studies will continue to maintain the CTE Resource Site and biweekly TESOL newsletter after the program has been discontinued.
Registration for the Spring 2026 CTE semester for non-credit students will open in the winter. Degree students are able to register for CTE courses during the regular registration window. See registration instructions here.
