Alumni in the Field

Graduates of The New School Certificate in Teaching English are:

• Teachers in adult education programs, private language schools and colleges both here and abroad.

• Coordinators of ESL programs at local community-based organizations

• Private tutors

• Graduate students - about 20 percent go on to earn an MA in TESOL. 

To help students and alumni find positions, the English Language Studies Department maintains a list-serve on which all job announcements received by the department are posted. Also, every fall, we offer a workshop on interview skills and where to look for jobs.
