As a student, you may experience a range of challenges that may impact your health and wellness that can interfere with academic experiences and negatively impact your daily life, such as strained relationships, increased anxiety, problems with eating and/or sleeping, substance use, feeling down, difficulty concentrating and/or lack of motivation. We all experience stressful and difficult events as a normal part of life. BAFA students are undertaking a particularly intense workload. If you are seeking guidance, resources, or support for your health and well being, there are many avenues to pursue at The New School and beyond, no matter what kind of support you are seeking.
This non-comprehensive guide is meant to highlight some of the most commonly utilized resources by our community at The New School, in NYC, and online. Remember that staying well, getting help, and taking care of yourself is a smart and essential thing to do – for yourself, for those you care about, and for those who care about you.
Students experiencing a medical emergency or who are an immediate danger to themselves or others should call 911 in the United States or go to the nearest hospital emergency department.
