Registration (newschool.edu/reginfo) can be particularly complicated for a BAFA student, as each college has its own requirements. Also, BAFA students need 48-60 credits more than their peers to graduate, with only two additional semesters to earn these credits.
For this reason, BAFA students are given priority in the registration process to ensure that they have access to required courses and to avoid scheduling conflicts and will find the University Course Catalog a useful tool.
It is essential that BAFA students review their academic progress carefully with their Academic Advisor before they register, and be prepared to register on their assigned date and time. Students must be prepared for their advising sessions. They should know their priorities—for example: Are there prerequisite courses that must be taken? Is a desired elective offered only in the fall? Students should inquire about their options: Are there alternative sections of a required course? Can a course be postponed to a later semester?

BAFA Registration will take place on MONDAY, MARCH 24, 2025. Be sure to prepare in advance, and review the Checklist for BAFA Registration!
LANG: If the class is a Lang or SPE class (course codes beginning with L or U), e-mail the instructor directly with a cc to your advisor.
PARSONS: Students should fill out the Parsons Permission Form for any course they would like to request permission for that they do not meet prerequisites or major code for. Faculty approval does not suffice for permission to enroll.
COPA: Students should fill out the CoPA Permission Form for any course they would like to request permission for that they do not meet prerequisites or major code for. Faculty approval will not suffice for permission to enroll.
