CAREERS
CAREERS
All students can access careers advice at any time during their Sixth Form studies through our dedicated team of careers advisors. The purpose of this guidance is not to dictate students' futures but to help them explore the various options available, including university, apprenticeships, colleges, conservatoires, employment, gap years, overseas study, or internships.
The application process for university begins in the summer term of Year 12. Using the web-based ‘Apply’ system, students can complete their UCAS forms from home on their own PCs or online at school. They also have access to Unifrog, an online platform providing comprehensive advice on various career opportunities, including universities and apprenticeships.
Applications for some courses must be submitted by October, and early applications are advantageous for all courses. University visits are highly encouraged. For students not wishing to apply to university, the school offers the VTAS program, a parallel initiative to UCAS that provides guidance and support for finding and applying for apprenticeships.

Students who are considering university courses are strongly advised to visit a number of universities. Visits to Open Days or at other times may provide a student with a clear idea which University is right for them.
Students are entitled to a reference from each subject area describing their abilities. While references must reflect the performance of the student, they are always written positively and the school has an excellent track record of helping students to gain places on their first choice courses. With many students progressing to interview at Oxford and Cambridge.
Apprenticeships are an exciting option to consider, you will have hands-on training and also the chance to put your skills into practice whilst you earn a wage.
Apprenticeships are available at multiple levels, there are hundreds to choose from and some include a qualification, like a degree.
What you earn will depend on the industry, location and type of apprenticeship you choose
