If the answer to these questions is yes, then Neston High Schools level 3 course in criminology is something you need consider.
Our Level 3 Diploma in Applied Criminology is a unique qualification that comprises elements from across the field of social science such as Law, Psychology and Sociology. What types of crime takes place in our society? How do we know if a person’s behaviour is criminal or not? Why do people commit crimes? What happens to those who get convicted of criminal offences? These are just a few of the questions we will be investigating during the Criminology Diploma.
You will be given the opportunity to research key criminal cases, theories and phycologists to find the answers to these questions. As a student on this course, you will learn to develop transferable skills that are highly valued by employers such as excellent written communication skills, analytical thinking skills, research skills and many more. There are several future options that you can pursue with a qualification in criminology.
Students can go on to study related Degrees such as a BA Criminology and Policing, a LLB in Law with Criminology or even a split BSC with Psychology and Criminology. Beyond university there are also many career opportunities that students interested in the field could undertake, such as working in the police force, academic research or even go on to practice law. Studying Criminology at Neston will also provide students opportunities to interact with key professionals in the criminal justice system, such as solicitors and barristers. Furthermore, the sixth forms Bar Mock team is a great occasion for those interested to be involved in a mock criminal trial at Liverpool Crown Court, with a real judge.
