Whether your ambition is university, a degree apprenticeship or a career in engineering, this course develops essential technical skills, creativity and problem-solving abilities. Studying alongside A Level Mathematics or Physics can support university progression.
What Will You Study?
Five units combining engineering theory, design and manufacture:
Engineering Beyond the Classroom
Experience Autodesk Fusion, CNC machining, 3D printing, laser cutting, prototyping, quality control and sustainable manufacturing using specialist equipment.
Our award-winning Neston High School Makerspace, industry connections and STEM activities offer opportunities to explore real-world engineering and innovation.
How Will You Be Assessed?
40% External Examinations: F130 and F131
60% Non-Examined Assessment (NEA): F132, F133 and F136
Skills and Future Careers
Develop CAD/CAM, technical drawing, manufacturing, engineering analysis, problem-solving, teamwork and project management skills.
Progress towards university, higher or degree apprenticeships and careers in mechanical, aerospace, automotive, civil, electrical, robotics, product design and sustainable engineering.
