Principal Leadership Academy
Are you interested in obtaining Level II School Principal Certification?
Principal Leadership Academy, Cohort 8 is currently in session through April 2024.
If you are currently an assistant principal or principal, make sure your district leaders know you are interested in being part of Cohort 9.
Registration requires district-level approval since there is a fee for participating.
NEFEC's Principal Leadership Academy is the state-approved pathway for leaders in the NEFEC districts to earn their Level II Florida School Principal Certification.
Candidates must hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate, in educational leadership, administration, or administration and supervision; be employed in a public school within the district, in a leadership position, where the candidate can demonstrate the competencies associated with the FPLS as prescribed in rule 6A-5.081(c)4; and have earned highly effective or effective under 1012.34, F.S.
The Academy is 15 months in duration and consists of:
A minimum of two field experiences
A capstone action research project
Mentorship by highly-qualified, proven school-based administrators.
Progress monitoring by the district through the use of rubrics which are aligned to the Florida Principal Leadership Standards
Quarterly Progress reviews
PLA completers are eligible to receive 150 in-service points (30 for Fundamentals of School data course and 120 for the core program).
