Students can register for many courses as either Regular or Honors/Advanced enrollment type.
Students who are Honors/Advanced should be completing all Regular assignments and any additional Honor/Advanced assignments. If there is an honors and regular exam/quiz, the Honors student completes Honors (unless Answer keys and/or course state otherwise). Please review your course assignment pages to learn more about who should be completing which assignments.
As for the Segment Exam, the student takes just one based on their enrollment type, Regular or Honors/Advanced.
Regular to Honors/Advanced Enrollment Type
Sometimes when students register for a course they may accidentally forget to select Honors. It is best practice to speak to the student during the welcome call regarding their enrollment to make sure that they are in the correct course and have selected Honors if applicable. You can change a student from Standard Credit to Honors Credit during the grace period of the course. Once this period has passed, they must stick with the credit requested.
Honors/Advanced to Regular Enrollment Type
Students who find that Honors is too much and would like to be changed to Standard Credit may do this at any time throughout the course. If this occurs, please log in VSA and send an email to Freshdesk (mdvs@nefec.freshdesk.com) letting MDVS staff know that it occurred. We have to contact the district data person and let them know to change the designation in their SIS.
This can be accomplished by logging into VSA and locating your student on the Teacher Dashboard.
Make sure that you have Enrollment Type as an option on the tab you are working with in VSA.
