Data privacy and security are foundational elements of digital learning. A personalized, learner-centered environment uses technology to collect, analyze, and organize data to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of learning. The district ensures sound data privacy and security policies, procedures, and practices are in place at the district, school, classroom, and student levels.
Gear 5 is comprised of the following Future Ready elements:
Data and Data Systems
Data Policies, Procedures, and Practices
Data-Informed Decision-Making
Data Literate Education Professionals
The District data housed in eduCLIMBER, Infinite Campus, Schoology and other assessment services (e.g. iReady, ACT Aspire) contain elements of both demographic and academic information used to help improve student motivation and engagement, assessment results, attendance, behaviors and provide analysis for achievement gaps. Each of the services NJSD employs adheres to CIPA, COPPA and FERPA laws as nonnegotiable standards. Most of these data stores allow immediate access to demographic and academic data stores. In each of our systems user roles and permissions sets are custom created to provide the most accurate and secure sharing of information.
The Neenah Joint School District IT Department manages all devices on our networks. Apple hardware is managed by Jamf Management Software, Windows work stations are managed by Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and our Chromebooks and Google G Suite accounts are managed within our Google Domain Administration environment. Management of devices on our networks provides security of personally identifiable information and other data, ease of support for end users, and network reliability.
