It is the goal of the NJSD Technology Department to provide the resources and tools necessary to interact, create, and demonstrate the skills needed for 21st Century teaching and learning. These resources and tools include, but are not limited to, networking hardware and software, service provider contracts, applications and services, technical support, and student and staff devices.
The primary focus of the Neenah Joint School District is student learning. The emphasis of this section of the Plan is on the deployment of systems critical to the success of digital efforts toward student achievement. Those systems include student devices, digital content, networking hardware and software, bandwidth, leadership, and technical training and support. Mobile computing has changed the way we live, work, learn, communicate, and play. Highly engaging digital learning environments are dependent upon a robust infrastructure.
When employed as part of a comprehensive educational strategy, the effective use of technology provides tools, resources, data, and supportive systems that increase teaching opportunities and promote efficiency.
Gear 2 is comprised of the following elements:
The Wisconsin Digital Learning Plan Goals, Recommendations, and Priority Activities within each section of the plan represent issues that speak to engagement with federal, state, and local education agencies.
To ensure a consistent user experience, and allow for efficient and cost-effective support, all technology purchases must flow through the Technology Department for approval. This includes outside purchases, grants, donations, and any other technology resources to be used throughout NJSD.
The following goals tie directly to the priorities in the Wisconsin Digital Learning Plan for Gear 2.

2.5: NJSD has provided the infrastructure to support a robust plan for technology integration into classroom learning through the 1:1 initiative in grades 3-12, supported by the BrightBytes data. To provide equity across socioeconomic levels, NJSD will provide Kajeet wifi hotspots to the 7% of reported families without access at home. The use of distance learning tools such as GradPoint (™), and the technology to support the GEDO Option 2 (™) program, provide appropriate support for students who require additional support in navigating NJSD.
