Prerequisite: Active Lifestyles 1 or 2, or permission of department chair.
Content: In this course, we will be teaching students recreational games that they can participate in throughout the duration of their lifetime. Sports and games that will be taught in this course include: tennis, volleyball (indoor and outdoor), basketball, badminton, softball, kickball, soccer, and golf. Students will have the opportunity to improve their skills, learn the rules of the game and strategize, all while working on interpersonal relationships in a cooperative environment. In addition to the gameplay activities, students will also partake in strength training, fitness testing, and health-related components related to assessing their personal health and attaining the goal of living a physically active lifestyle into adulthood.
Activities: Tennis, volleyball (indoor and outdoor), basketball, badminton, softball, kickball, soccer, golf, Welnet lessons, nutrition, and mindfulness.
