"ARETE" PROJECT-BASED LEARNING COURSE OF STUDY
Have you ever played the role of Henry VIII in a debate against Albert Einstein over many mind-bending topics? Has your education allowed you to make a difference in the community? In the Arête Academy, opportunities like these exist every day. Our academy is a family of peers who work together to accomplish incredible goals. When students are presented with a problem, they use creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and classroom learning to solve the problem. While the projects generally focus on answering a guiding question or topic, students have no limits to show off what they have learned. Whether it be writing a novel or building a greenhouse, personal skills and passions come alive every day. Arête is focused on enhancing student values and achieving excellence as this program is designed for students of all learning abilities.
How does ARETE compare to traditional classroom learning?
How do I become a part of ARETE?
Your teachers and/or Counselor will have referred you to the ARETE program. ARETE teachers will meet with students prior to finalizing course registrations in the second semester. Together with your Counselor, they will assure that you are scheduled into the appropriate courses.
