Course content: Students will explore fiber arts through creative design in fashion, hand-dyeing fabrics, repurposing clothing, textile design using digital tools, knitting, weaving, embroidery, wool-felting, and sewing. The course will also explore how fabrics and threads are made around the world, art installations using fibers, and careers in fiber arts.
Activities: Fiber Arts activities will include quilting, dyeing of fabrics, weaving, textile design, embroidery, and stitching as well as fashion design. Students will also participate in exhibiting their work in the community.
