NCTV is a club that meets weekly and is designed to offer our students the opportunity to learn about video and editing as it relates to Television production. The digital arts studio is equipped with a green screen, camera as well as a broadcasting TriCaster which contains all the controls used in live television production. The interface has various "layers" for connecting to live recording, or to the digital data recorder which contains the show's "bumper" or introduction, and is used to switch from live production, to pre-recorded material. There is also a layer for animated graphics such as logos, end titles, or "lower third" titles. Students will also have the opportunity to work as anchors and announce the news. They will learn how to create a signature "sign-on" or welcome, and "sign-off" at the end of the show, and will also learn how to "annunciate" and "project" so their reporting is clear and easily understood! This club is a wonderful connection for students interested in either Television Journalism, or the technical aspects of television production.
