April Caspari, Ceramics & Sculpture teacher is entering her 13th year in education. Before joining North Country, she completed teaching internships at U-32 Middle & High School in East Montpelier and Union Elementary School in Montpelier and worked as a paraeducator at Rumney School in Middlesex.
Originally from New Hampshire’s White Mountains, April has studied photography and design in Northern California and art history, ceramics, and graphic design at Keene State College. She then pursued a vocal jazz career in Nashville before returning to New England to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching in Vermont’s Green Mountains.
At North Country, April advises the Pride Pottery Club and National Art Honor Society, hosts monthly Norah Beads meetups, teaches in the Arts & Communications Academy, mentors new educators, and helps share classroom moments through the NCUHS Visual Arts Instagram. Her advanced ceramics course is aligned with CCV’s dual enrollment program. She is also passionate about public art projects that strengthen students’ connection to their communities and sense of place.
One of the greatest joys of April’s career has been traveling the world with art students. She believes art education extends far beyond the classroom, helping students see the world, understand their place within it, and experience the power of art to build community, foster meaningful connections, and create spaces where everyone feels they belong.
