Health Services

NCSU offers the school health services that are needed to intervene with actual and potential health problems. These problems could be including providing first aid, emergency care and assessment and planning for the management of chronic conditions (such as asthma or diabetes) and are not limited to these areas. Health services connect school staff, students, families, community and healthcare providers to promote the health care of students and a healthy and safe school environment. School health services actively collaborate to when we can bridge the social and economic barriers to health, and to be able to manage the related stressors. Qualified professionals such school nurses, nurse practitioners, dentists, and health educators provide these services at NCSU.

  • NCSU provides a strong focus on substance abuse prevention, tobacco prevention and sexual health education through three grant that fund multiple strategies to increase heath ad offer support.

You can quit smoking; we are here to help you. http://802quits.org/ and http://802quits.org/resources/ Also review http://counterbalancevt.com/ is another example and this program addresses among many things flavored tobacco: The Vermont Department of Health is dedicated to reducing youth access to and use of tobacco.
