For the past three years, I have worked as a part-time designer for MiddleM Creative, a firm that specializes in providing marketing and branding solutions middle-market private equity, investment banking and financial services firms. In this role, I work on various projects mainly involving post-production tasks of video marketing based content.
Not only have I developed my video editing skills throughout this position, I have also been exposed to varied marketing techniques, and the private equity industry as a whole. Check out some of my project work that I am involved in.
One of the main projects and companies I am tasked in working with are a video-based talkshow, in which the hosts, Jeff Maeir and Scott Aleali, host guests who specialize in a specific area of their industries, to talk about their experiences in the field, trending predictions of the market, and their personal interests and hobbies. For these videos, I receive the full uncut footage, and I am responsible for editing, adding engaging graphics, music, and other marketing materials to ensure a fun and interesting video is relayed to their audience. I mainly utilize iMovie as well as Canva in executing these post-production tasks. All of these videos are posted to LinkedIn.
Kian Capital Partners operates in the Venture Capital and Private Equity industry. I have worked with the team in creating their Year in Reviews for 2021-2023, as well as other marketing video-based materials for LinkedIn.
I have had the opportunity to create many designs and videos for a variety of companies that partner with MiddleM Creative.
My continuous work over the years with MiddleM Creative has allowed me to become a master of video editing. This position has challenged me through learning video editing platforms, design programs to create engaging graphics, obtaining music and sound effects for certain videos, and overall to create an interesting and fun video for specific client needs. This position has also desensitized me completely to continuous rounds of edits and changes that need to be done on project work. Through this, I have been able to separate myself and my ego from the work I create, and embrace constructive criticism that will improve my work, and improve my skills in general as a designer. Instructional design demands a lot of video work, especially through post-production, and it is through my position as a Thought Leadership Designer at MiddleM that has allowed me to strengthen and master this skillset.
