Overview

REPORTER is the event registration system used for Goodnight Scholars programs. To login, please click here and enter your unity ID and password. If you have any questions about REPORTER, please contact Joselyn Barrientos Chapman at jdbarrie@ncsu.edu.

REPORTER Program Registration Guide

Registering for a Program

• 1. Go to https://reporter.ncsu.edu/

  2. Login using your unity ID and password

  3. Click  “catalog” on the left hand menu bar

  4. Click the “keyword” box at the top and type in one of the three options: GSP, Goodnight, Goodnight Scholars Program. Then click search. 

  5. If you are looking for a specific program series, type in one of the following keywords (if not then disregard this step):

     • Adulting 101, Community-Wide Social, Class Socials (Class of 2026-2029), Cultural Arts,  Faculty Dinner, Wellness, Service, Real Leadership, Career Readiness, Major Madness, etc.

  6. Find the program you want to attend and click “enroll now.” The program will show as restricted. This course is restricted to non-goodnight students. Still click “enroll now”

     • Note: If you want to see a description of the program click on the course label above.  Ie; if you want to attend a specific Class of 2028 social click “Class of 2028 Social - EMAS-GS-28”. When you click on that, it will bring up a small screen that will have all the open upcoming socials for the Class of 2028. 

     • Waitlists are enabled for every program. If the program is full “enroll now” will not be an option.  More information about waitlist registration is available in the next section.

  7. Check that you have read the “registration policies.” 

  8. Then click “1” under participants 

     • Note: You cannot register other Goodnight scholars 

  9. Under participant 1, click “self”

  10. Click the "incomplete" box and respond to registration questions if they are available

      • Click submit answers

  11. If you want to sign up for more than one program at a time, click “continue shopping”. If you have signed up for all the programs you want to participate in, click “proceed to order summary”

      • Note: Your balance should always be $0.00 when signing up for Goodnight Scholars programs 

  12. Click “checkout” if all the information is correct 

  13. Reporter will send you a confirmation email with your registered program information

Waitlist Registration

• 1. Click “add to waitlist” if the program is full and “enroll now” is no longer an option 

  2. Click “1” for number to add to waitlist 

  3. Click “self” for participant 1 

  4. Click “add to waitlist” 

  5. On your home screen, waitlisted courses will be located under pending items

  6. If a scholar drops the program, you will automatically be added to the program in the order that you signed up for the waitlist. You will be notified by email when this happens

  7. If you can no longer attend the program, click “drop from waitlist” so another scholar has the opportunity to attend, then click “proceed”

Unregister for a Program

• 1. Visit https://go.ncsu.edu/reporter  to unregister

  2. Your homepage will have a list of upcoming courses 

  3. Click “view details” on the course you want to unregister for 

  4. At the bottom of the screen, click “drop this course” 

  5. When canceling, please submit a reason for your cancellation or write "N/A"

  6. Click “drop”

  7. Click “yes” if you are sure you want to drop this course 

  8. Now when you look at “upcoming courses” the program should no longer be listed
