Brittany is available for drop-in support on a weekly basis. Drop-in sessions are highly utilized at NC State and offer an opportunity for a brief, informal conversation with a mental health professional. Common topics in sessions include learning more about counseling services, working through a one-time concern, or learning a coping skill to address a current stressor.
Drop-in sessions are not therapy, though they can be a first step towards discovering and setting up counseling services. To sign up for a time, please visit go.ncsu.edu/scholars-lets-talk.

While Brittany is the embedded counselor for the Goodnight, Park, and Caldwell programs, a wide variety of counselors with varying expertise and identities are available to serve any and all students at NC State.
Your comfort is incredibly important and we want to make sure we provide the best therapeutic experience. Note your preference on our “Request for Services” form. If you don’t list any preferences, we will work with you to find a counselor who is a best fit.
Counseling is for everyone. To feel the need for help with life’s difficulties is normal. Calling a counselor is a healthy, responsible way to approach problems. Counseling is not a “quick fix” for a problem. Counseling is the process of helping people learn to deal with their concerns or decision-making situations successfully. Thus, counseling is most often hard work and requires active engagement. Concerns can range from roommate issues to identity concerns to managing anxiety or depression.
When you commit yourself to get the most out of your counseling experience, you will be more likely to benefit and have a successful experience.
