Using Quality Matters to Drive Your Course Design

Friday, August 11, 2017

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Online via Blackboard Collaborate

As demand for online courses continues to increase, it is more important than ever to provide our students with well-conceived and high quality online courses. Quality Matters (QM) is a non-profit, faculty-focused organization that provides both a rubric and a process for driving course design. The QM rubric is a tool used to evaluate course design and its components, not the individual instructor. If you’d like to learn more about the Quality Matters organization and what tools and resources are available to you as a faculty member and UNC system subscriber, join us for this online session!

Participants will be introduced to the importance of alignment, which is the underlying principle of Quality Matters the QM Rubric and how to utilize its standards to help design high-quality online courses or improve existing online courses an informal course review process for individual faculty to conduct self-reviews of their online courses (this self-review tool is available to all faculty at NC State).
