Students are encouraged to take an active role in their program to ensure all requirements are met.
The Graduate Advisement Planner can assist students in ensuring they are meeting all program requirements.
Each student will have an individualized program plan created in consultation with the Graduate Program Director, the Graduate Practicum Director, and the student. All parties will maintain a copy of the program plan utilizing the Blank Program Plan template. Any changes to the program plan must be communicated with the Graduate Program Director and the Graduate Practicum Coordinator.
The following are sample student program plans meant to illustrate possible scenarios. These are examples! There are many other configurations of coursework that could work to fulfill requirements (e.g., different electives, timing of practicum, etc)
Sample Program Plan 2 -- DSP or I-SPAN (NOTE: Students will earn a NY State Advanced Certificate for completion of these programs, which will be displayed on their transcripts)
Extended students must meet the prerequisite requirements outlined on the Graduate Advisement Planner as soon as possible upon entering the program, usually within the first 2-3 semesters.
