Academic Team

The Academic Team competes in academic competitions focused on various subjects such as English, Math, Naval Science, and Naval History. This team not only encourages cadets to improve their academics, but also helps them prepare for future assessments such as the ACT and SAT. 

Individuals on this team go above and beyond what a typical cadet is expected to know in terms of academics, expanding their knowledge on a daily basis.

Cherokee's Academic Team participates in regional and national competitions. During these, teams may take knowledge based tests individually or together, compete in STEM competitions, and act in brain brawl. In such brain brawls, cadets will select a category of questions, then competing to answer questions the fastest by buzzing in.
