Cadet Resources

Each cadet between the ranks of E-1 to E-7 must pass their knowledge tests and correctly execute in place drill with and without a rifle (E-2 promotion tests contain only knowledge questions. E-3 promotion tests consist of knowledge and unarmed in place drill. E-4 to E-7 promotion tests require all three). E-8, E-9, and all officer promotions are earned; no cadet can take a test to become that rank, as it is up to the instructor's discretion on whether or not that cadet deserves that position. In order to become an officer, a cadet must complete Leadership Academy where they are required to successfully complete a PFT (based on each cadet's age and gender) and pass the final exam at the end of the week.

The period in between promotions is 1 month up to E-4 or Petty Officer Third Class; 3 months between each promotion up to E-7 or Chief Petty Officer. Ranks above E-7 may be promoted at any given time, at the discretion of the instructors.
