COURSE DESCRIPTION: If you want to learn how to create original movies and broadcast news reports, then this is the course for you. This is the first of two Video Production courses offered at Watertown High School. Students in this class will learn how to use the equipment of the television studio such as the control board, audio mixer, teleprompter, studio cameras and lighting to produce the daily student/faculty announcements. Likewise, students will learn how to create screenplays, use camcorders, microphones and computer editing software to learn basics of film design. As a result, students in this class will have experiences to make them feel comfortable in front of and behind the camera. Students who successfully complete this course will have learned and applied; Script writing, Camera operation, Operation of newsroom equipment, and Post‐ production editing software.
