1/2 Credit Course - 1 Trimester in length - Open to grades 10-12
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed for all students to explore welding through the use of practical applications. Students will explore Stick, MIG, and TIG welding processes. These concepts will be reinforced using project based activities. No prior welding experience necessary. Safety Glasses are required daily.
UNIT: Stick Welding: In this unit, students will learn how to weld. Whether students have welded at home in the garage before OR never welded yet - this unit will teach students how to use the Miller Multimatic 215 welders to stick weld.

UNIT: Mig "Wire" Welding: In this unit, students will apply their practice from stick welding into the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process. This more common process in industry will give students more confidence in metal joining in class. Students will have around 15 hours of welding time in Mig welding.

UNIT: Tig Welding: In this capstone unit, students will apply their previous welding practices and learn how to Tig Weld on steel.
