The student understanding of the BSW Standard:
Firstly, the BSW standard is a bachelor’s in social work which is a professional degree majoring in the field of social work offered at an undergraduate level (Abhishek Dhawan, 2022). Research shows that students will develop and demonstrate the knowledge, values and skills required of professional social workers (University of Southern Indiana, 2011). The BSW standards are based on performance standards which include skills, behavioural, values and professional components. In this you also learn about communicating, listening skills, and beginning skills in writing a report. This BSW standard focuses on the intervention report. Phases 1,2 and 3 it focuses on how to write out a report, exploration, engagement, assessment and planning the report. It also focuses on establishing a rapport/relationship with the client. It also got to do with formulating goals to see what best helps the clients and to not get too personal.in this assessment the student should conduct research and gather information to help the client to he/she is working with. The BSW standards focuses on understanding the process and building relationships with their clients, respect the rights and dignity of all human beings, to use proper strategies and methods to work through cases and interventions. Social workers should be aware of the relationships between themselves and the client, they should not get involved in any unethical business practices and not involve the personal life to affect the case that they are working on, to apply ethical behaviour practices and ethical research of the social worker. Demonstrate and understand the relationship between the social worker and the law (Introduction to the fieldwork education, pg. 2).
